Mrs. Mya Adkisson-Hunter

ADKISSON-HUNTER, Ms. Mya - Age 56, perished at University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Friday, May 28th, 2026, two days before a blue moon. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6th, 2026, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness 2211 Stedron St. Flint Michigan 48504. Cremation will take place privately. Mrs. Adkisson-Hunter was born, April 19th, 1970, in Toledo, Ohio to Sharon Antoinette and James Waverly Adkisson Jr. Her life is characterized by reverence to her faith, unyielding devotion to her husband and family; resourceful business acumen; avid foodie; fashionista avant-garde; hilarious craze for the Sanford and Son TV show; coloring with her crew; fishing with her father; and a nurturing green thumb, inherited from her mother. On December 3rd, 2016, Mya’s travels led her to an ultimate discovery of great truth she had been seeking her whole life. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s witnesses Her faith in Jehovah deepened and she blossomed with a greater love for all. “And you must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your strength” (Deuteronomy 6:5). Mya’s discovery also led her to everlasting love for Tyrone Hunter. Their love led to union in marriage on April 8th, 2022, surrounded by family, friends, and under the watchful eyes of Jehova’s blessing. Mya and Tyron had four incredible years together sharing their faith, boundless friendship, and deep love and commitment for one another. Mya would ask that you still yourself because she led a full and exciting life; and there is nothing to mourn. She would ask that you find adoration in Jehovah so that one day she can see you again. Mya was preceded in death by her Parents, James and Sharon (Toni); Brother, Terrence; Niece, Asia; Aunt, Audry and Uncles Lloyd, Ronnie, Bobby, and Charles. Mya leaves to cherish her memory: her Husband, Tyrone, Step children Tyrone Jr., Tyra, and Tyler, Sister, Dana; Brother, James III; Aunts, Janis (Teri) Hamlin and Marjorie Adkisson; First Cousins Roy, Fritz, Ruel, Treva, Ty, Gina, Shelly, Melody, Antonio, and Ananias; Nieces and Nephews Damion, Chionna, Damon, Terrence Jr., Ramon, Truveu; Jatavian, Deondra, Paris, M’iare, and Za’Niyah; and her special friends Sister Helen, Sister Jamie, Sister Lanisha, Sister Heather, Sister Shelia, Sister Joann, Melinda, Tarina, Shawana, and Wesly; What a remarkable Woman and artist!
